About us
A Passion for Basketball
We are driven by a love for basketball and the joy of playing the game. Founded with the belief that sports should be accessible and enjoyable for all, we've created a vibrant community where players of any background and ability can come together and enjoy this great game.
LLJBC was established in 2018 to provide the opportunity to enable young people in Lincoln to enjoy the sport of basketball in a club setting. The first such club in Lincoln for a decade. The club quickly grew and moved to LSST in 2020 and now has about 100 young players.
We cater to every level - whether you're an experienced baller or just looking to have fun with like-minded players, you'll find a welcoming home here. Our coaches are experienced as coaches, players and referees, helping our young athletes enjoy the game and understand the game, developing their skills and confidence.
We love to experience the win but we love passion more...it's about the journey, the friendships forged, the personal growth. That is why we offer opportunities for all levels of player - not just the highly skilled players. We are keen to ensure all are welcome and provide Development Sessions (School Years 3 -13) as well as Competitive Squads (U12, U14, U16).
We know the game, it changed us, we believe in the power of sports to inspire positive change and aim to make a meaningful impact, both on and off the court. Our club is more than just a place to play; it's a place to believe, develop, belong.
We ensure a minimum Level 2 qualified coach and first aider at every session, we are Basketball England DBS cleared and safeguarding trained.
Our coaching staff
Our senior coach Paul Wyatt - Paul has played basketball for over 40 years, and has been a coach and referee for over 30. He is a Level 2 coach and referee, and a Level 3 Table Official.
Our development coach Matthew Bates - Matthew played basketball from a young age and knows the game well. He is currently undertaking his Level 2 coaching qualification.
Our trainee coach Anis Seksaf - Anis loves his basketball and is developing as a coach with his Level 1 qualification. He looks after our Legends and relates exceptionally well to our young players.
If you are interested in helping out and joining our support team, please reach out to us. We are always in need of volunteers.
We are lucky to have Meriem and Sara supporting us on our committee, they bring fresh ideas and focus to help us continue developing our Club’s ethos and ambitions.
Duke Of Edinburgh Award
We know many teenagers look to join the DofE scheme to broaden themselves and learn new skills. We support DofE participants who want to participate for ‘finess’, develop a ‘skill’ such as coaching or ‘volunteer’ to assist at training younger players.
Want to join the team?
We are looking for people who are interested in helping us out, either on court as an assistant, as a trainee coach, an official, or behind the scenes. There is always work to be done and we are all volunteers. Please speak to Coach Paul, Matthew or Anis or drop us an email.
