LINCOLN LIGHTNING JUNIOR BASKETBALL CLUB
Youth basketball in Lincoln for school years 3-13
In 2022 Sport England stated that basketball was the second most popular team sport in England after football. You have to wonder why there aren’t more clubs providing basketball for children in Lincoln, well never mind, you’ve found us.
LLJBC provides safe, enjoyable basketball for about 100 young players in Lincoln from age 7 to 18 (school year 3-13).
We are keen to ensure all standards and experience are welcome, we provide Open Development Sessions that anyone is welcome to as well as competitive squads (at U14, U16, and U18) which play in the Nottingham's Wildcats Central Venue League (CVL).
All our sessions have a qualified Level 2 basketball coach present.

The game of basketball
Basketball brings together a combination of speed, skill, agility, balance, and tactics. The game is contested by two teams of five players and involves one team invading another team's territory, with the aim of shooting a basketball successfully through their opponent's hoop. Basketball is different to most invasion games as it utilises a shot clock to force teams to shoot within 24 seconds of gaining possession. This makes basketball action-packed and very enjoyable for spectators.
The great thing about basketball is, although it’s a team sport when competing, you can practice on your own, with one friend or a whole bunch of people. All you need is a ball and a hoop and you’re ready.
